war. Here a group of concerned citizens are trying to build back

In the mountain villages of the Andes, the potatoe is king. It is the lifeline of a thousand generations, yet this vital crop is at the mercy of the weather. Not enough rain and villages can starve. But with a simple system of gravity pulled irrigation, farmers can reap two and maybe three harvests a year, store potatoes for emergencies and grow enough to trade or sell, improving their lives and detering further exode to the city slums.
We are setting this project up with local journalists and hope you'll soon come back to visit these high mountain villages.
